On Friday, July 18, 2025, Manfred Dorowski and Toni Bausen visited the archive for the second time, after having already handed over a special archive donation on the history of the Social and Educational Working Group for the NAC on April 25.
Registration and program for the 2025 Annual Meeting
This year, the Apostolic History Network cordially invites you to the annual conference on church history in Bensheim and Mannheim. The eighteenth annual meeting on the church history of the apostolic communities will take place there from October 2 to 5, 2025. The conference will be held at the New Apostolic churches in Bensheim and Mannheim, as well as at the Institute for Denominational Studies in Bensheim. The main topic of the meeting will be the Community of Christians of Our Time, which was formed in 1949 from the former district of Worms of the New Apostolic Church and existed until 2002.
Network events in the second half of 2025
Traditionally, around July 14, we also announce our event program for the second half of the year. We are pleased to announce a colorful variety of virtual and in-person events once again!
As a new feature, we are offering an intensive course entitled “Introduction to Apostolic Church History” on September 13. We will spend a whole day studying apostolic history and invite you to join us at the Brockhagen Archive. Registration is required. We ask for a donation on site to cover the costs incurred.
Invitation to the Apostolic Holiday: 190 Years Since the Setting Apart of the Apostles!
July 14 marks the 190th anniversary of the setting apart of the apostles in London—an event that can be regarded as the actual founding of the Catholic Apostolic communities in the sense of a religious community. The apostolic churches and communities that emerged later and trace their origins back to this tradition can also discover the essential roots of their faith here. Thus, July 14 is probably the most important—albeit long forgotten—holiday of the apostolic denomination family. We will celebrate it with a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. in the Brockhagen Archive.
Great interest in apostolic history at the Church Congress in Hanover, Germany
For the first time, the Netzwerk Apostolische Geschichte e.V. (Apostolic History Network) participated with a booth at the Market of Opportunities at the German Protestant Church Congress (DEKT). From April 30 to May 4, 2025, the networkers were in Hanover, Germany, and helped organize this major event.
Sing-along lecture for the anniversary year: 100 years of the “old” German hymnal of the NAC
On May 17, 1925, the Wächterstimme aus Zion, the church magazine of the New Apostolic Church at the time, reported that “the new revised edition of our church hymnal has been completed.” Almost exactly 100 years ago, the New Apostolic hymnal was published in a print run of at least six figures and had a significant impact on several churches and communities. This is a wonderful opportunity to revisit this book!
Apostolic History Network at the 2025 Protestant Church Congress!
From April 30 to May 4, the German Protestant Church Congress (DEKT) will take place in Hanover. And the Apostolic History Network will be there for the first time! We will have a booth at the Market of Opportunities in Hall 6 (Booth 6J-12).
Discussion about planned demolition of church in Bielefeld: Network takes up position
In recent days, a discussion has arisen in Bielefeld regarding the planned demolition of the old New Apostolic Church Bielefeld-Mitte (also known as the cafeteria). Local historian Dr. Wilhelm Haubrock called for protection of the rare church windows from the workshop of Gustav Fricke. The building was recently sold to a real estate development company.
2025 Annual meeting planned in the Odenwald/Germany
This year we can already organize the 18th annual meeting on church history. The date has now been set – the Netzwerk Apostolische Geschichte e.V. invites you to its research conference from October 3 to 5 in the Mannheim/Bensheim area in central Germany.
Concluding the year 2024, thank you!
Another year is almost over. On Saturday, December 14, 2024, we were able to hold our traditional Advent singing at the Brockhagen Archive again. This event also concludes our annual network meeting.
